Recipe
2 cups flour
1 Tbl baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup milk
Cut cold butter into dry ingredients using a pastry blender or knife. Stir in milk. Do not overmix.
Cut into biscuits; bake at 425 about 10-12 minutes.
My Notes
These are fantastic flaky biscuits that are great for many occasions! You can serve them in a variety of ways - as a side dish for a meal, served with gravy, as a breakfast with jam or butter and cinnamon sugar...
This recipe only makes about nine biscuits, so you might want to make a double recipe!
Make sure you don't overmix them - leaving the butter in larger chunks makes them more flaky. (But also make sure you mix the dry ingredients well before adding the butter - you don't want to get a pocket of baking powder!)
Story
This is my mom's biscuit recipe! She also makes sweet potato biscuits, but these will always be my favorite.
